Let’s face it, being a vegan college student is hard. There really aren’t enough options available in the dining halls, nor enough time to prepare three homemade vegan meals a day. And don’t even get me started on the scarcity of vegan offerings at restaurants, or the ridiculous markups that restaurants add to the few vegan dishes that they offer. Although its hard to be vegan as a college student, Pizza Hut just made it a lot easier through its addition of Violife cheese to its line of vegan pizza options. In fact, it may have just become a vegan’s saving grace.
What Vegan Options Does Pizza Hut Offer?
Pizza Hut has always been overwhelmingly customizable when it comes to vegan offerings. Included in these offerings have been thin and thick crusts, their classic marinara sauce, a majority of their toppings, and cinnamon sticks! The only thing missing has been an alternative for cheese but, NOT ANYMORE! By the end of the week, you’ll finally be able to order a COMPLETELY vegan pizza at ALL Pizza Hut locations nationwide. Can I get a ‘hell yeah’?
What Kind of ‘Cheese’ Is It?
Their vegan pizzas are now made with a “cheese” called, and produced by, Violife. It is a Greek-based company that prides itself in creating a cheese that is vegan, as well as preservative and GMO-free.
How Much Does It Cost?
The cost of these new options is currently unknown in dollars, however, will most likely not break the bank. In England, it was only an extra pound to add Violife to your pizza! Not too shabby if you ask me.
Is It Worth It?
DEFINITELY. I mean, I haven’t tried it yet, but that’s only because it isn’t available! When it does come out, you know I’ll be one of the first to try it!
To those of you doubting me, come on…does Pizza Hut really ever disappoint? I’ll let you decide. Just don’t judge a book by it’s cover…oops, that was cheesy.
