Cutting a pineapple is one of those skills you don’t think you’ll need to know until you come face-to-face with it and you’re wondering how in the world you slice the thing properly. Just like filing taxes and writing checks, cutting this tropical fruit is something school never teaches.

However, cutting a pineapple doesn’t have to be one of the seven wonders of the world, and this video shows detailed instructions on how to slice and dice this popular snack. No need to worry about biting into a rock-hard piece of core either. 

How to Properly Cut a Pineapple

  1. Cut off the top of the pineapple.

  2. Cut the pineapple down the middle into two halves.

  3. Cut the halves into quarters.

  4. Cut the core from the pineapple.

  5. Cut each piece in half again.

  6. Cut the skin off of each piece.

  7. Slice each wedge into chunks.
