Whether you’re vegan, vegetarian, or just looking to introduce more plant-based meals into your diet, it can be hard to find good options around campus. Here are some of the best options for plant-based food near Emory University.
Falafel King
Starting off with a classic! Located in Emory Village, this affordable campus favorite has several plant-based options, including the falafel and hummus sandwiches, both wrapped in a warm, soft pita!
Desta Ethiopian Kitchen
If you’re feeling adventurous and want to try something new, stop by Desta at Emory Point. A dedicated vegan section on their menu includes traditional dishes such as Shiro (chickpea stew), Tikil Gomen (spiced cabbage), and my personal favorite, Dinech Wot (potato stew). If you can’t decide on just one dish, the vegan platter is a perfect option!
Blaze Pizza
Worried that salad’s the only option when all your friends are getting pizza? Not at Blaze! This is a great option near campus offering personal size build-your-own pizzas with a variety of toppings, including vegan cheese and plant-based chorizo.
NaanStop
If you’re willing to wander just a bit farther from Emory, this creative Indian restaurant offers customizable rice bowls, salads, and more, with many vegetarian options and your choice of fresh, healthy toppings. Choose a base of salad, white or brown rice topped with Gobi (cauliflower) or Chola (garbanzo beans). And definitely don’t forget to try the samosas – they’re a can’t miss.
Cinnaholic
We can’t forget about dessert, and luckily there’s an amazing option close to campus. Cinnaholic is a fully vegan bakery with tons of cinnamon roll flavors, edible cookie dough, and more delicious plant-based desserts. Flavors include caramel apple pie, campfire s’mores (with vegan marshmallows!), and even a savory pizza roll.
