If you’ve ever watched an episode of The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, you know about his Thank You Notes segment; it’s where he humorously and sarcastically thanks a long list of varying objects or occurrences in our daily lives that go unnoticed, ranging from the cringe-worthy word “moist” to the phenomenon of socks with sandals. So, with Thanksgiving approaching, I thought I’d take Jimmy Fallon’s lead and write an Emory spin-off to Thank You Notes
1. DUC
Thank you, DUC, for making me cry after taking the chicken from the Kosher meal plan.
2. Cox
Thank you, Cox, for closing at 7PM every day and leaving me stranded to go to the DUC for dinner. And charging extra for kale. And avocado. And water.
3. Kaldi’s
Thank you, Kaldi’s, for only offering a small sized iced coffee for a whopping deal of $3.50.
4. Highland Bakery
Thank you, Highland, for messing up my order every single time. I mean, is an off-the-menu avocado toast, sunny side up eggs with a runny yolk and a hard outside on toasted sourdough bread SO hard?
5. Postmates
And thank you, Postmates, for always being there when Emory dining just doesn’t cut it, and allowing me to spend all my parents’ money on Goldberg’s bagels delivered to my dorm.
So, this Thanksgiving, let’s all indulge in our once-a-semester home cooked meals so we can happily return to our true love in Atlanta – Emory dining.
