Chips are one of the classic American snacks. There are dozens of varieties to choose from and they come in a multitude of different flavors.
One of the classic potato chips is not actually a chip at all. Pringles are sold under the name potato crisps because they contain a smaller percentage of potatoes than standard potato chips.
Pringles come in classic chip flavors like bbq, cheddar cheese, ranch and sour cream and onion, but they also have specialty flavors like loaded baked potato, chile y limon and chile con queso.
With all of these flavors available, I decided to conduct a taste test to help the average consumer decide which Pringles are the tastiest. I knew I could not do this alone, so I enlisted the help of several of my friends.
We conducted a blind taste with sixteen different flavored Pringles. Each chip was assigned a letter and after each person tried the chips, they ranked these chips and gave feedback on how the chips tasted.
16. Chile Con Queso
“Not good at all”
“Too spicy”
“Ew, I hate this so much”
Needless to say, chips and queso should be a two-part snack.
15. Cheddar Cheese
“Not cheesy enough”
“Bland”
“Artificial color”
If you are craving a cheesy snack, go with the classic Cheetos.
14. Cheeseburger
“Tastes like a little pickle”
“Weird aftertaste”
“Strangely good”
This odd flavor received mixed reviews, but is worth a shot!
13. Loaded Baked Potato
“Ehh not my thing”
“Tolerable”
“I would never buy this”
Moral of the story: loaded baked potatoes are not meant to be squeezed into a chip.
12. Fat Free Sour Cream and Onion
“Tastes like nothing”
“No flavor”
Hit the gym and stick to the full fat version of this classic Pringles flavor.
11. Tortilla Southwestern Ranch

You may be better off sticking with the Doritos on this one.

“Muy bien!”
Definitely worth a trip South of the border!
9. Tortilla Nacho Cheese

“Distinct salt and vinegar flavor”
“Flavor was a little overpowering”
This flavor proved to be a great substitute for your classic kettle cooked salt and vinegar chip, but not everyone loved it.
7. Lightly Salted Original

“Thin”
“Crispy texture”
This flavor received solid reviews and packs in less sodium than the traditional original chip.
6. Chile y Limon

“Lots of lime flavor”
“Tastes like a margarita”
This specialty flavor packed a big spicy kick, but proved to be a favorite.
5. BBQ
“Smoky”
“Definitely BBQ”
“Light and tangy”
The BBQ scored well for its distinct, hot-off-the-smoker flavor.
4. Original Tortilla
“WOW, give me some guac and I would be in heaven”
“Just add salsa”
“Takes me back to spring break”
This chip received uniformly good reviews and is a great substitute for the original Tostitos.
3. Sour Cream and Onion
“Creamy”
“Definitely sour cream and onion”
“Delicious”
Our taste testers easily identified this classic chip flavor.
2. Original Fat Free
“Classic”
“Yum”
“Perfect”
I was happy to see that most taste testers could not tell the difference between the fat free and full fat chips.
1. Pizza
“Amazing.”
“I could eat the whole box”
“Tastes like a real pizza”
Next time it’s three in the morning and you are getting back from a night out, don’t hesitate to grab a box of pizza Pringles instead of spending your money on Domino’s.
Moral of the story, Pringles come in all different flavors and styles, so next time you are in the market for a crispy snack, don’t just stick to the original. Grab a new flavor. You never know, it may be your new favorite!
