Whether you’re perpetually buried in the stacks or prefer only to stop by for a group project meeting, spending time at the library is inevitable. The infamous snack break is the perfect way to both sustain your productivity, or procrastinate it if you so choose. This is why Emory has completely made over the café on the first floor of the library.
If you have had the chance to venture to the bottom level of this half studious, half social mecca, you would have noticed the recent change of coffee purveyors. The library café Jazzman’s has been replaced with Peet’s Coffee & Tea.
A California-based chain, Peet’s has made its mark on the Woodruff Library by supplying a variety of delicious coffees and teas, such as a Matcha green tea latte, an iced caramel latte and a Masala chai latte. Keep those in mind the next time you are in desperate need of caffeine.
In addition to the normal snacks the library café has to offer, like granola bars and chips, Peet’s serves up goodies from another on-campus dining option, Highland Bakery. You can find freshly baked goods ranging from “cookie brownies” and chocolate croissants, to deliciously satisfying Caprese and chicken pesto sandwiches.
Not only are there new food and beverage options, but also the inside of Peet’s Coffee & Tea is a large, newly remodeled study area consisting of bar stools, tables and arm chairs. These make the perfect spot to study when you are faced with the tricky combination of needing to both study and eat. Even if you don’t need to hit the books, Peet’s Coffee & Tea is sure to become a destination for great food and drinks in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.
Peet’s Coffee & Tea is one new place on Emory’s campus that is definitely worth checking out.
