Did you know that there are almost 300 Taco Bell locations outside the United States? Probably not. At American Taco Bell locations, you can find the Waffle Taco, the Naked Chicken Chalupa, and the Doritos Locos Tacos, among other glorious options on the menu. But you probably won’t find these Taco Bell staples elsewhere because the menus vary based on region. So here’s what Americans are missing out on.
Beer & Tacos
If you’re ever hungry for Taco Bell in Spain, Korea, Japan, the United Kingdom, or India, don’t be surprised to see beer on the menu. Nothing beats the Beer and Taco Supreme Deal for under two Euros.
The Burrito Papa Suprema
In several other countries, Taco Bell sells fries. But in Chile, Taco Bell takes it to a whole new level with their Burrito Papa Suprema, stuffed with fries and melted cheese. What’s not to love?
Loaded Fries
More fries?! The answer is yes. Despite a completely fry-less menu in America, Taco Bell locations in Chile, Japan, and the United Kingdom offer a basket of crispy fries topped with melted cheese, beef, scallions, and diced tomatoes.
BBQ Pork Quesadilla
The UK is at it again with this BBQ Pork Quesadilla. This melty masterpiece is filled with carnitas, BBQ sauce (of course), and a three-cheese blend, all in a grilled flour tortilla.
Chicken Tikka Masala Burrito
You can find the Chicken Tikka Masala Burrito in India, where Taco Bell has added a twist to the traditional Indian dish. The flour tortilla is stuffed with chicken, rice, onion, cilantro, and Tandoori mayo sauce.
Banurrito
Cyprus’s Banurrito is a fresh banana wrapped in a flour tortilla, drizzled with chocolate sauce and topped with rainbow sprinkles. *Drools*
Kimchi Quesadilla
The Kimchi Quesadilla has its home in Korea. Again, Taco Bell transformed a traditional dish into Mexican-infused deliciousness. Kimchi, a spicy Korean dish made from fermented seasoned cabbage, is combined with spicy chicken and a blend of melted cheeses.
Shrimp and Avocado Burrito
Capitalizing on the fact that Japan is an island country, Taco Bell created a burrito sure to win over seafood lovers. It has marinated shrimp, avocado, salsa, lettuce, and wasabi mayo.
Taquito Lupita
You’ll have to travel to Spain for this decadent dessert. The Taquito Lupita is fried flour tortillas topped with cinnamon sugar and a Dulche de Leche sauce. And the dish wouldn’t be complete without a scoop of vanilla ice cream on the side. Muy delicioso!
Taco Pizza
Surprisingly, the Taco Pizza is not offered in Italy, but Spain! Dubbed Mexican pizza’s big brother by Taco Bell, the pizza is three layers of tostadas topped with nacho cheese sauce, ground beef, salsa, and diced tomatoes.
Beefy Cheddar Cheetos Crunchwrap Slider
What does Canada have that we don’t? A monopoly on maple syrup, Ryan Gosling, and now Taco Bell’s Beefy Cheddar Cheese Cheetos Crunchwrap Slider. Apparently, Jalepeño Cheetos pair well with ground beef and warm nacho cheese sauce. Don’t knock it ’til you try it?
Finally, you’ve been given a reason to travel the world: to taste some of these one-of-a-kind dishes. And, props to Taco Bell for incorporating local flavors into their international menu.
