I didn’t want a “Blueberry Muffin,” or a “Fruit Salad.” If I had wanted either of those snacks, I would not have bought jelly beans. When I looked on the back of the Jelly Bean package for some delightful combinations, I was surprisingly, unsurprised. The only combination that slightly peaked my curiosity was the “Banana Kiwi Pudding.” But, after a hot second, I realized how truly awful that sounded. So, as a beautiful form of procrastinating for my psychology test, I decided to come up with the top ten jelly bean combinations that are actually relevant to our college lives. These life-changing, sensory-shaking jelly bean combos will transport you out of those dusty library stacks and straight to beaches in Cancun or dates with your lover.
Full disclosure—I ate all of these. And I am still in the library, but now with an upset stomach…
But regardless, please enjoy.
Spring Breaaaak
Coconut, sunkist tangerine, pomegranate and peach.
I will not promise that James Franco, as an oddly sexy gangster, will come bail you out of jail after eating these; however, it’s worth a shot.
State Fair
Very cherry and green apple.
Even when I’m not surrounded by the largest vegetable competitions or bizarre freak shows, this combination brings me back to the North Carolina State Fair.
Oktoberfest
Root beer and crème soda.
I’ve never been to Oktoberfest, but I like to imagine it would taste like this.
When I Met You in the Summer
Watermelon and sunkist lemon.
Cue Calvin Harris and all my summer lovers (oh wait…)
Sexy
Sizzling cinnamon and very cherry.
Think David Beckham and Megan Fox. MMM.
Starbucks
Cappuccino, french vanilla and marshmallow.
I promise this flavor will be better than the black coffee you’re drinking in the library right now.
Christmas
Cinnamon, caramel corn and marshmallow.
I am absolutely obsessed with Christmas, and yes I know everyone says that, but my alarm is set year-round to Bing Crosby. So, regardless of the time of year, indulge in a Christmas miracle, that is…this jelly bean combination.
Barbie Girl
Coconut and bubble gum.
Life in plastic, it’s truly fantastic.
Because I’m Happy
Tutti-fruitti, juicy pear, piña colada.
It’s overplayed and overdone, but worry not, you won’t hate this combination as much as you hate the song.
TBT
Cotton candy, bubble gum and chocolate pudding.
This combination triggers fond memories of getting bubble gum stuck in my hair in grade school, and I hope it’ll do the same for you…
