Many people claim that paying extortionate prices and putting avocado on everything is the epitome of basic. Although there is some truth in this, these individuals have yet to see not only how delicious it is, but also the nutritional value it brings.
Adding avocados to almost every meal, I can’t help but consume them without guilt. If you’re an avocado lover, then these eight scenarios are things you have most likely experienced at one time or another.
1. Realizing avocados are your one true love
Ever since, it has just become second nature to ask the waiter, “Can you put avocado on that?” Adding it to every course, you can’t help but plan your meals around it. Surprisingly, you may have even found yourself adding it to your dessert.
2. Looking like a complete idiot in the grocery store picking up and feeling every avocado
It can become quite the challenge to find an avocado that’s not too hard nor too soft. But, when you find just the right one, it makes it all worth it.
3. Waiting time is a vicious cycle
Waiting for the right time to cut open the avocado can truly be a nightmare. Nothing is worse than uselessly sitting in front of an avocado that is taking days to ripen. But it’s the wait that makes it fun, right?
4. Becoming a pro at perfectly cutting out the seed
Concisely cutting out the pit of an avocado without making a mess may seem almost impossible. But avocado lovers have found it to be no problem, since they have already mastered the technique of how to perfectly remove the large seed.
5. Shedding a few tears when the price rises
Arriving at the grocery store to find that the cost of avocados have risen is a dagger to the heart. However, if you’re a true avocado lover, I’m sure you’re still willing to pay the exorbitant prices.
6. Finding out there are no avocados left
You arrive at the grocery store to get avocados only to find they have ran out. While having an mini panic attack, you do NOT understand how they could possibly be out of avocados. So, you have no choice but to travel 10 minutes to another grocery store hoping you have better luck there.
7. Not being able to resist the guacamole
At a Mexican restaurant, if you’re like me, you typically get guacamole for the table. But is it really for the table? With little self control, I always seem to shove the entire thing in my mouth before anyone has a chance to have any.
8. Paying extra for guacamole
If you go to Chipotle as much as I do, you know that guacamole is not even an option — it’s a priority. Going through the line, the workers always say, “You know guacamole is extra, right?” Feeling victimized by the employees, you have to keep yourself from yelling “UGH… YES, I KNOW guacamole is extra.”
One, if not all, of these either situations are relatable to any avocado fanatic. When in doubt, they will make any snack or meal more tasty. As the wise Jason Mraz once said, “If you have nothing but love for your avocados, and you take joy in turning them into guacamole, all you need is someone to share it with.”
