For those of us on campus for the summer, we’ve been back for just barely a week, and have already had a lot to adjust to. Since when is there sunshine/warmth in Hanover? What’s with the abundance of vaguely athletic high school kids? And, most importantly, what the hell is going on with dining hours???
The answer to your first question: Enjoy it while it lasts.
Second: Two words–sports camp.
And finally, the solution to your summer dining dilemmas:
1. FOCO
The usual all-you-can-eat…PLUS, introducing late night, FoCo style. The Grill, The Hearth and the Big Greens Salad Bar stay open until 10pm and feature items such as mozzarella sticks, nachos, hamburgers and the famous FoCo cookies (and, yes, salad, you freak.)
Breakfast: 7am to 10:30am
Lunch: 11am to 2:30pm
Dinner: 5pm to 8:30pm
After-Hours: 8:30pm to 10pm ($7.75)
2. COLLIS
Yes, Collis is still only open MONDAY through FRIDAY. If you were looking forward to a weekend omelette and smoothie, sorry to let you down. Instead, get FoCo to go and sit out on the green or try out the juices and excellent coffee at Dirt Cowboy!
Monday through Thursday: 7am to 8pm
Friday: 7am to 2:30pm
Weekday Late Night: 9:30pm to 12:30am
Saturday & Sunday Late Night: 8pm to 12:30am
3. NOVACK
If you’re taking classes this term, the depressing fact is that you’ll probably end up eating a meal at Novack. Here’s exactly when you can cry into a Moe’s burrito about your workload or purchase a warm muffin the size of your face (the Cinnamon Coffee Cake and Triple Berry are personal faves).
Monday through Friday: 7:30am to 11pm
Saturday & Sunday: 4pm to 11pm
4. KAF
If you frequent King Arthur Flour, you’ve probably noticed that they’ve added new menu items. Try their Tuscan Lentil salad, or one of their awesome sandwiches. Rumor has it they might be gone come winter, so get your KAF fix now! KAF also has weird hours in the summer, so adjust your coffee schedule accordingly.
Monday through Friday: 8am to 2pm
Saturday & Sunday: CLOSED
5. THE HOP: CLOSED FOR THE SUMMER
The Hop just got a new salad bar! Unfortunately, you can’t try it–the Hop is closed for all of 14X. But that means your Chicken Tender Queso will taste that much better in the fall after the long wait. Distance makes the heart grow fonder, right? Instead, try a falafel sandwich or grain bowl from The BOX food truck.
6. Vending Machines
As a depressing last resort. You can use DA$H at any vending machine on campus, 24/7. Trust me, it comes in handy.
