Chobani Yogurt Creations at the Coop: Revealed

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at Colgate chapter.

Based on the amount of people I see eating Chobani every day, it’s safe to say that our school has a yogurt addiction. It makes sense, considering Chobani headquarters is less than an hour away from campus. The Coop’s Chobani Bar has some pretty unique yogurt toppings like pesto, sun-dried tomato, and even Goldfish. I’ve noticed many people mindlessly pile on strange combinations of toppings with no thought of the resulting combination, so I decided to try some of them for myself.

The Good

1. Nutella, Banana and Vanilla Yogurt

This guilt-free Nutella snack is guaranteed to satisfy your sweet tooth, and using the banana adds some nutrients as well!

2. Chocolate Chips, Granola and Plain Yogurt

This combination has just the perfect amount of sweetness and crunchiness. If you love trail mix, this isn’t too far off.

3. Raspberries, Coconut, Chocolate Chips and Vanilla Yogurt

Raspberries and chocolate are two of my favorite foods, and together they are irresistible. You’ll feel like you’re eating dessert, not breakfast.

The Bad

4. Sundried Tomato, Raisins, Walnuts and Plain Yogurt

I had some hope for this unconventional concoction, but it ended badly. The saltiness of the tomato, chewiness of the raisins, and crunchiness of the walnuts just didn’t mix. My roommate’s reaction to it basically says it all:

The Ugly

5. Plain Greek Yogurt, Goldfish and Pesto

I knew from the start that this wouldn’t end well. Do not attempt to recreate this; it makes for the worst combination yet. The textures and flavors don’t mesh well. Safe to say, we should probably keep the fancy creations for the Chobani bar in Soho.

Life’s too short to just eat plain yogurt and granola. Next time you’re at the Chobani Bar, try something different. You just might find your new favorite food.
