Tattooed Chef Will Make Any Vegan’s Freezer Very Happy

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at CC chapter.

Ingredients from Italy delivered right to your door. Tattooed Chef sources many of their ingredients from Italy, prepares them into delicious meals, freezes them, and ships them right to your door. With a focus on plant-based foods that are good for us and the planet, the heat-and-eat meals are perfect for these cold winter months.

My freezer is full of meal ingredients but not complete meals. When Tattooed Chef reached out and asked if I was interested in some of their dairy-free products, I couldn’t say no.

Buddha Bowl

Dinner from the freezer to the table in six minutes? Check.

The Buddha bowl is a hearty, and complete meal. You get your leafy greens, root vegetables, and protein all in one. The chili chickpeas pack a punch, but the sweet potato, onion, and kale have a milder flavor. The cauliflower rice does the job, but you probably won’t forget that it’s not “real rice.”

Organic Açai Bowl

The acai bowl isn’t as sweet as I expected, but that’s probably a good thing. It doesn’t have any added sugar, so the sweetness comes from the fruit and coconut milk. There are lots of blueberries and pieces of strawberry so you can easily get some fruit in each bite.

Most of the protein (3 grams) comes from the topping, so this is probably more of a snack than a full meal. But you get lots of fruit (there are bananas mixed into it), and a decent portion of your daily recommended fiber so if you’re not feeling the whole fruit salad thing, just grab an acai bowl!

Organic Raspberry Kombucha Smoothie Bowl

This bowl is my favorite! It combines raspberries, mangoes, and coconut granola with a delicious kombucha smoothie base! I moved it from the freezer to the refrigerator the night before I planned to eat it for breakfast. In the morning, I popped it in the microwave for about 20 seconds, added the granola, and mixed it all together for the perfect weekend breakfast.

The raspberries sort of lost their shape and became mush, but they still taste great, and the large mango pieces are a great way to get some fruit into your morning without making a giant smoothie.

These are just some of Tattooed Chef’s products, but everything is available on their website. Have you tried any of their products? Let us know @spoon_cc on Instagram.
