4 Case Western Reserve University Study Spots Outside The Library That Have Free Wifi and Refills

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at Case chapter.

We’re all students, which means studying is almost as important (I said almost!) as eating food. There are times when I’m studying at the library, and my stomach tells me it’s time to put down the bio book and pick up a sandwich. If you’re like me, then walking out of the library, grabbing some grub, and coming back is just too much work. For this reason, I’ve compiled a list of study spots outside the library on campus where you can buy your cake, eat it, and study too.

1. Starbucks (NRV and Euclid)

Technically Starbucks isn’t a fast-food place, but it has food AND caffeine, which is all that really matters right? Starbucks is known for having great wifi signal and lots of options for food (pastries, granola bars, and sandwiches) and so many drink options. And to top it all off, they’ll give your free refills if you stay in the store and do your work!

#SpoonTip: If you’re there already, check out some of these Starbucks hacks to save money and time.

2. Panera

Panera is fast food, but healthy, so you won’t feel too bad about getting macaroni and cheese. There are free refills on drinks and great wifi. Also, there’s really nice seating are upstairs with couches, tables, plenty of outlets, and a quiet atmosphere. Also, not many people know about this study spot, so take advantage of it while it stays quiet!

3. Chipotle

I love Chipotle as much as the next girl, but the price of a bowl with guac is just too much these days. However, what I didn’t know is that if I get a bowl and a drink and stay there, you get free refills on drinks! Extending one $8 bowl and drinks over 7 hours seems better than the 30 minutes that I usually spend devouring it.

4. Subway

The great thing about Subway on campus is that it is a special meal swipe, no actual cash required. That gets you a drink, chips or 2 cookies, and a six-inch sub. So feel free to customize to your leisure! In case you don’t already know where it is, it’s on the bottom level of Tomlinson Hall. Meal swipes are only from 1:30-3:30, but free refills are available from start to close.

So, next time you’re hungry and need to study, make one of these places your new study spot. Your grades AND stomach will thank you.
