Why You Need to Try Avocado Bubble Tea ASAP

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at BU chapter.

In these last years, avocado has become a very popular fruit to a wide range of the audience. From health conscious people to Mexican food lovers, we all love avocado’s rich texture and flavor that fills our hungry stomaches. The yellow-green flesh of the fruit not only tastes good but also transforms into many kind of food like guacamole and caterpillar roles. You might have already settled with your way to enjoy the fruit, but let’s not be basic.

So, here is a new way to elevate your avocado experience. I’m introducing avocado bubble tea.

The bubble tea, also known as pearl tea or boba, is a popular tea-based drink from Taiwan. It was first invented in 1980s as a sweetened tea drink with tapioca pearls, but now the bubble tea has many flavors. Yay or nay? I hear some of you go “ew” when I say the avocado smoothie with pearls. And I don’t blame you for that since my friends had the same reaction. But forget the traditional way, and hear me out with a fresh mind why you should add the avocado bubble tea to your ultimate avocado list.

1. Avocado adds a smooth texture and extra richness to bubble tea.

Bubble tea comes in a variety of flavors from fruity to creamy. Although it offers a wide range of flavors, milk tea seems to be the most popular flavor, and is a good place to start if you’re new to boba. But the rich texture of the avocado boba is a whole different level.

2. The sweetness is on point.

If you like sweet but not overwhelmingly sweet stuff, avocado bubble tea is perfect for you.

3. It fills you up and the pleasure lasts for a long time.

Are you a hungry kid like me? Do you always finish your food faster than your friends and feel embarrassed? Either way, you will love this. Avocado bubble tea gives you long lasting pleasure and will keep you satisfied… I mean, for a snack.

4. Guilt free. Gluten free.

Because it is made from a ripe avocado, 1/2 cup of (soy) milk, 6 ice cubes, brown sugar and tapioca pearls, it’s healthier than eating straight candy or cupcakes. And we all know avocados are high in nutrition — it’s loaded with fiber, different vitamins and minerals. We can do good for our body while indulging ourselves. What more could you ask for?

5. Tapioca pearls are chewy and fun to eat.

Extracted from cassava root, these tiny black balls of starch add a fun, chewy texture to drinks. They feel similar to gummy bears, but softer and slimier. So when the tapioca pearls are mixed with creamy drinks — like avocado — it creates an interesting harmony in your mouth.

There are greater chances that you might find the avocado bubble tea in Chinatown. So, plan out your trip now and enjoy this new way to eat avocado.
