The Most Instagram-Worthy Ice Cream Places in Fairfield County

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at Bridgeport chapter.

Fall 2017 is bringing us a lot of surprises that affect our sweet spot food cravings (other than pumpkin spice). With temperatures swinging from high 80s to low 60s, we are all looking for something to be consistent—something that will make us and our tummies slightly happier.

So we put together a list of some of the tastiest and most Instagram-worthy ice cream places in Fairfield County for all of the struggling college students. Some of these are even a great bang for your buck.

Freezing Moo: Rolling Ice Cream

Location: 1700 Post Road, Fairfield, CT 06824

Traditional Thai “fried” ice cream rolls are one of the most interactive and fun food experiences to have. In the Fairfield location of Freezing Moo, you can choose from up to 20 unique flavors like Whole Latte Love, Monkey Business or Mint To Be (ALL puns intended).

Each order also comes with three toppings of your choice, which creates millions of possibilities and flavor combinations. Oh, did I mention their Taco Cream? Well, ladies and gentlemen, let me introduce to you rolled ice cream inside of a hard taco shell.

MILKCRAFT

Located: 1215 Post Rd, Fairfield, CT 06824

We all heard about this place, but did we really HEAR of it? Don’t believe everything you hear on the internet. You have to get in the car/bus/feet, go to Milkcraft and see for yourself how each individual ice cream is made with liquid nitrogen. They scoop this handcrafted ice cream into a freshly made Hong Kong bubble cone!

The possibilities are unlimited: from choosing your cone to the crazy toppings and ice cream color. The modern look of their Fairfield location (which sometimes remind me of Pop Art) will add a pop of color to your Instagram feed. Make sure you pop in during the holidays for their limited flavors that change every season.

Sunny Daes

Location: 2505 Black Rock Turnpike, Fairfield, CT 06825

Sunny Daes might not have the fanciest or most “Instagramable” pictures, but it offers one of the best ice creams in the area. This location reminds your of your old-school ice cream parlor, where memories are made and you feel the nostalgia of your friends in HS instead of going to gym class.

Fairfield location offers more than 30 different flavors of ice creams, including gelato and frozen yogurt. And if it is not enough, they also serve scoops in various cones: M&M’s, chocolate or sprinkles covered inside and out.

Do you have a Vintage aesthetic to your Instagram? Then you definitely need to visit their location for an 80’s #ThrowBack and funky picture with their life-size cow.

No matter what ice cream you prefer, you can find something suitable for any sweet tooth right here in Fairfield. And you know what the greatest part is? All of these locations are located on one street (literally).

So, if you are ever stressing over tests or simply want to treat your taste buds, think of this article as a go-to guide. It will save you from drowning in plain, melted Marina ice cream.
