The Best Places Around Boston to Get Take Out for V-Day If You’re Single AF

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at Bentley chapter.

Valentine’s Day — the day some people love and others love to hate. Don’t kid yourself, when you’re in a relationship, it’s all rainbows and butterflies, but when you’re single AF on V-day, you’re a hater. It’s the day for love and relationships, but it doesn’t have to be. What’s better than being in a relationship? Food. Specifically takeout.

In fact, I would consider it a necessity on a day like V-day, especially comfort food. Add some grub to your order for your BFFs and you’re ready for a night in!

There are dozens of places around Boston that are excellent for take out. Depending on what you consider comfort food, there is Panera, sushi, sweetgreen, and so much more. Being a college student, some options are easier than others, but all are delicious choices.

Ponzu

Sushi is always a good idea. One of the best places to get sushi is Ponzu. The sushi is excellent and my personal fav when I’m feeling down. If you don’t like seafood, they also have vegetarian options which are just as yummy. The best part about Ponzu is that they deliver through GrubHub, a food delivery service, to wherever your heart desires (fitting right?).

Sweetgreen

If you’re trying to be healthy, sweetgreen is the way to go. It’s a new place that is extremely popular, not only because it’s delicious but because it’s a twist on salad. You have the basic salad toppings as well as hot choices for each bowl. In addition to your main lettuce base, you can choose between different rices, chickpeas, and quinoa. Then you add proteins and other cooked veggies to complete your masterpiece. It’s conveniently located in Harvard Square for easy accessibility.

Panera

Another one of my favorite places for comfort food is Panera Bread. Panera has so many different options and if you’re as indecisive as I am, they have a “you-pick-two” option where you can pick two different dishes to comprise your meal. I highly recommend the bread bowls filled with soup paired with a salad, but you also can’t go wrong with a sandwich and some hot mac and cheese. Panera is an excellent and easy choice!

If you find yourself extra down on this holiday, GrubHub is also an option. You can get food delivered to you through an app from any restaurant supported near you. In case you run out of food half-way through your movie, this is the best!

Pinkberry

To finish off your feast, grab some Valentine’s Day dessert. Froyo is one of the best desserts because you can get it to go and it fits almost everyone’s cravings. They have every flavor and kind of topping imaginable. Pinkberry, also centrally located in Harvard Square, can even be GrubHub-ed if you really don’t want to pause your girls night.

Valentine’s Day can be dreadful when you’re single, but with the right food and the right gal pals, you could be in for quite the treat!
