Food festivals are nothing new to the Atlanta scene. We have the Atlanta Brunch Festival, the Atlanta Taco Festival, and countless others. It’s hard to believe no one thought up the Atlanta Mac and Cheese Festival until now. This legendary event is a must-go. Below are all the details you need if you are interested in attending the festival.
What
The Edgewood Neighborhood has organized the first annual mac and cheese festival, and for this we give them our many thanks and praise. According to the Atlanta Mac and Cheese Festival website, this will be the best Mac and Cheese Festival in the Southeast, with local bands, dancing and tastes of local restaurants, food trucks, creameries, and breweries. The festival will showcase a whopping 20 to 30 local vendors. All ages are welcome, but everyone ages 10 and over is required to purchase a ticket, which will be available soon for purchase. Unfortunately no furry friends allowed, so leave your pets at home. No outside food or drinks are allowed either, but with the amazing food and drinks being offered this won’t be a problem. Attendees are encouraged to bring picnic blankets and chairs to relax and make a day out of it. Rain or shine the event is still on, so if it does rain throw on your rain boots and enjoy some mac and cheese. Everyone knows mac and cheese is the best way to brighten up your day.
Where
The festival will be held in Walker Park at 200 Memorial Terrace SE, Atlanta, GA 30316.
When
The festival is being held Saturday October 8th, 2016 from 12:30 pm to 6 pm. This is worth a weekend home from school if you ask me.
Why
The Atlanta Mac and Cheese Festival will benefit Neighbor in Need, an organization whose mission is to help low income elderly residents in East Lake, Kirkwood and Edgewood, East Atlanta and Decatur’s Oakhurst Community with emergency home repairs. Neighbor in Need is run completely by volunteers.
