Recently I visited the Westfield Montgomery Mall in Maryland to escape the chaos of finals and stumbled across Chocolate Moonshine Co. I was intrigued not only by the super intricate designs of their products but also by the concept of a whole store being dedicated to chocolate.
Who doesn’t love chocolate? Especially during finals week. Stress eating isn’t recommend or effective but sometimes it’s a necessary evil in times of chaos. As an avid chocolate lover I had to stop in. As soon as I did I was approached by the owner of this location, Ed Heller. He enthusiastically told me about the company and the premise of their products. Here’s what I learned:
In the store they sell hand-painted European-inspired truffles. There are over 35 flavors to choose from, so don’t worry guys, there’s a truffle out there waiting for you. Although I only got a four pack, choosing just four of their amazing flavors was so difficult. In the end I got their Tiramisu, Cookies and Cream, Irish Cream and Amaretto flavors. They are so aesthetically pleasing and super Insta-worthy. But most importantly, they tasted amazing; they were the perfect velvety and rich texture.
They are also known for their fudge, which has been named “America’s best fudge.” They use 30% less sugar than other big manufactures because their aim is to show that sweets can be creamy and delicious without unnecessary sugar. Chocolate and less guilt, what more could you ask for?
Chocolate Moonshine Co. is a super unique company that really sets itself apart from other brands. They have tons of options and are great for a variety of events. They are also gluten free and organic so there is something for everyone. If you want to learn more or find a location near you, check out their website and Instagram.
