Burger Tap and Shake: Your New “Pub” Destination

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at American chapter.

Right off the Tenleytown-AU metro lies Burger Tap and Shake’s new Tenleytown location. BTS has something for everyone from its six-buck-chuck and boozy milkshakes – there’s a large variety of twists on old Americana classics.

I ordered the classic six-buck-chuck with lettuce, pickles, onion, tomato, AP Sauce (the house blend of mayo), ketchup, mustard, BBQ and chipotle and French fries. Upon the suggestion of the cashier, I caved and ordered a cookies and cream milkshake, which was to die for.

The meat was seasoned to perfection, but was slightly too juicy for the light and fluffy brioche bun. However, the toppings made for a decadent and flavorful burger. While the french fries were very good, they did not live up to the onion rings that my friend ordered. The rings were almost the size of my head and were battered to a golden crispy perfection.

Ample outdoor and indoor seating features plenty of TV sets, making it a go-to spot for Sunday night football. The reclaimed wood and steel that adorn the bar, furniture and walls create a trendy and rugged ambiance, perfect for game day.

Don’t have the time to sit and watch the game? No problem. BTS’ order-at-the-counter system makes it easy to get your food to go and your order is ready within minutes.

Pro Tip: Choose between a side and a milkshake, because everything is so rich and filling.
