Food Network Visits Tuscaloosa to Film for the Great Food Truck Race

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at Alabama chapter.

For those of us lucky to be in Tuscaloosa for Memorial Day, food trucks are rolling in town to film for Food Network’s “The Great Food Truck: Battle Down South.” You heard me right, more food trucks will see their way to Tuscaloosa this week in competition to win $50,000 and a new truck.

Because of the nature of the show, each food truck will reveal when and where they will be located on their social media. Let’s give these food trucks and Food Network a big roll tide welcoming them to town!

Check out the list below of the food trucks competing in Tuscaloosa this week and be sure to follow them around. Maybe you’ll even be on camera! As for me, I will be making an appearance at each one, sorry not sorry.

1. Braised in the South

Nick, Steve and Brandon are the ones serving up Southern-inspired food out of this truck. Keep up with them on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.

2. Mr. Po’ Boys

From Dallas, Texas, Ryan, Esther and Cedric are the masterminds behind Mr. Po’ Boys. Follow them around on Instagram.

3. The Breakfast Club

It’s exactly what you think, breakfast food. Don’t you forget about them on Instagram.

4. The Southern Frenchie

Donnie, Amanda and Meaghan serve French Southern style food. Check them out on Facebook and Instagram.

5. Stick Em’ Up

This food truck specializes in food on a stick. Follow them on Facebook and Instagram.

So many trucks, so little time! Be sure to wear your stretchy pants because these trucks came to win. Be sure to bring cash to buy their food. No word yet on a premiere date for the show, but if you miss them in Tuscaloosa, word on the street is they will be traveling to Nashville, Tennessee next.
