6 Guy Fieri Maxims Applicable to Everyday Life in Flavortown

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at Alabama chapter.

Ever since I can remember I have wanted to frost the tips of my hair and drive a red Camaro. Why? Well, Guy Fieri’s show Diner, Drive-Ins, and Dives changed my life.

This isn’t a joke. Every time I would come home from school I would flip to the Food Network hoping the Camaro was driving down some road in the middle of Colorado showing me the hippest place to get a hamburger. This obsession continued as I grew older and stared traveling more. I would go to new places and go to all the restaurants on his show.

Things got even crazier when I started refereeing to food the way Guy does. My friends think I am crazy when I refer to some cheese fries as, “dynamite,” and not just yummy. Thanks to Guy Fieri my foodie vocabulary has increased abundantly. These funny sayings keep us on our toes because you never know what Guy will say next.

1. “Real deal.”

So, let’s say you just ate the best mac and cheese of your life. After taking that last bite you would say, “that was the real deal,” meaning that this grilled cheese just changed your life.

2. “Welcome to Flavortown.”

You roll up to your favorite restaurant and all you’ve got to say to your pals is: “welcome to Flavortown.” They’ll know this restaurant is the real deal. (See what I did there? Real deal? Haha okay bye.)

3. “That’s gangster.”

Guy Fieri is the original culinary gangster. So, when he says something is “gangster” on Triple D, you know that food is going to be unreal, or the real deal. You should probably jump in your car and head to that D, D or D ASAP.

4. “Capital T tasty.”

Whoa! You just ate a superb piece of apple pie! You have to give it all the credit it deserves. So when you tell your friends about it don’t just say “that slice of pie was tasty.” That slice of pie it deserves that capital T. Say “that slice of pie was capital T Tasty!”

5. “Pig candy.”

Why call bacon bacon when you could call it pig candy?

6. “That’s all she wrote.”

Well, now that we’re done with all these quotes. This article is finished… I guess you could say, “that’s all she wrote.” When I say “she,” I mean me.

Meet you on the couch to catch the next episode of Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives. Long Live Guy Fieri! Long live frosted tips!
