Synergy Launched A New Blood Orange Kombucha That’s Perfect For Fall

Each fall, a list of new seasonal beverages hits menus and aisles all across America. From Starbucks hosting the annual ”Red Cup Day” featuring its new holiday drinks, to Dunkin introducing its new Holiday Cookie Latte, seasonal beverages are the new obsession. Now, GT’s Synergy Kombucha has decided to jump on the holiday offerings with a new limited-edition flavor: Blood Orange.

What is Blood Orange Kombucha?

Blood Orange marks the 25th flavor in GT’s growing collection of raw kombucha. The drink includes pure blood orange juice, green tea, black tea, and kiwi juice with notes of hibiscus. The new flavor is available at several major retailers, including Sprouts Market, Trader Joe’s, Wegmans, Whole Foods, Mom’s Organic Market, and other local grocery stores. Synergy Kombucha’s website has an easy-to-use location tracker under “Find Retailer” to help you find the new kombucha closest to you.

What do people think of Blood Orange Kombucha?

TikTok user @uhmandaplz, a lover and reviewer of anything and everything kombucha, tried the new flavor and the results are in. She rated the new flavor a “nine out of ten,” saying it’s mostly blood orange with a pop of kiwi juice.

User @daziesometimes also recorded a full breakdown for TikTok, from opening the bottle to the last delicious sips. (She also reminds all fellow kombucha lovers to swirl your bottle, never shake, so that  your drink stays crisp without bursting open). Dazie says that, not only does it smell “so good,” but the new flavor also “tastes like an orange dreamsicle.”

Luckily, I got my hands on the new flavor before it sold out, and I have to say that I agree.

What does Synergy’s Blood Orange Kombucha taste like?

When drinking kombucha, I have found that it is best served cold, which is my excuse for drinking  the whole bottle during my walk from the cash register to my car. Since kombucha is a fermented drink, it tends to have a strong, acidic smell. But this new flavor could be a perfume. I was immediately overwhelmed with floral and citrus scents, and the smell alone was so enjoyable, it was almost too good to taste, but don’t worry – I did it for you. The strong carbonation hit my tongue along with a perfect balance of sweet and tangy. Add more about the flavor rather than overall senses. Did you taste orange? Citrus? Sweet? Sour? Black or green tea? Add two more sentences here.

Is Synergy Blood Orange Kombucha good?

As a self-proclaimed kombucha connoisseur, I have to rank this new flavor a solid ten out of ten. It is rich, flavorful, and so refreshing, making it a perfect start to the morning or a fun afternoon pick-me-up. Out of the existing flavors I have tried (which I’m proud to say is all 25), Blood Orange might just be my new favorite. It is so versatile, so delicious, and a perfect drink for any occasion.

How can I drink kombucha?

While I tend to drink kombucha right from the bottle, there’s a plethora of combinations to make this new flavor the star of your holiday gatherings. My favorite and simple way to dress up kombucha is by making it into a mocktail. All you need is a fancy looking glass and a couple festive garnishes, such as candied or dried blood orange slices. Plus, the visuals of the garnish are a beautiful way to highlight the rich, red colors of the drink, making it a fun beverage for  upcoming holiday occasions. Want to be even fancier? Add a sprig of rosemary in there, or maybe some sugared cranberries.

Synergy also posted a mocktail recipe, which they’ve dubbed the Gryffindor due to its potion-like appearance. They recommend adding some honey, a squeeze of lime juice, and edible gold glitter to give it that magical feel. The best part? Kombucha is good for your gut health. This is a great way to stay feeling good even after all the holiday sweets and treats!

One of my new favorite obsessions is making “kombucha floats.” All you need is some creamy vanilla ice cream and about a cup of kombucha for a sweet and refreshing dessert. Plus, the floral and citrus flavors in Synergy’s new Blood Orange are the perfect pairing for a frothy bev with vanilla ice cream.
