Olipop Orange Cream Soda Is Coming Back & I Got A First Taste

Orange cream is, arguably, one of the most nostalgic warm weather flavors out there. Last spring, Orange Dreamsicle was the seasonal Wendy’s frosty flavor, and this year, the flavor hit Dairy Queen menus nationwide in the form of a DQ Orange Cream Shake. Long before these fast food chains adopted the frozen treat, though, Olipop put a twist on the flavor with the Olipop Orange Cream soda in 2021. After discontinuing the limited-edition flavor after a few short months – much to fans’ dismay — the “better for you” prebiotic soda brand is making Orange Dreamsicles come true. As of April 29, the Olipop Orange Cream flavor will be available all year long — and I got a first taste ahead of the summer season.

What is the Olipop Orange Cream soda?

Back in 2021, Olipop announced the new Orange Cream flavor on Instagram as a limited-edition “nostalgic summer classic,” with a flavor that is both “sweet like citrus and creamy like vanilla.” Fans immediately began obsessing over the flavor, and many were disappointed that the Olipop Orange Cream wasn’t a permanent addition to the lineup.

Customers who tried the Orange Cream soda begged the brand to make this seasonal offering a permanent flavor, and after a few years of please, the prebiotic soda brand is bringing this fan-favorite out of the vault – and this time, it’s hitting shelves for good.

Is the Olipop Orange Cream Soda good?

I am a huge orange soda girlie (Fanta, Sunkist, you name it) because it is simply so nostalgic for me. While I love my daily Diet Dr. Pepper break, sometimes a sweet and fruity orange soda just hits different. And when it comes to nostalgia factor, cream soda is a close second, and Olipop Orange Cream soda is truly the best of both worlds.

This soda is perfectly sweet, citrusy, and creamy in all the best ways. The vanilla balances out the bright orange citrus flavor, and the fresh fruit flavor is punchy without being overly sweet. Truthfully, this may be one of the best iterations of orange soda I’ve ever had, and the addition of vanilla cream flavor is an exponential level up from the (albeit still delicious) Orange Squeeze Olipop.

Like the brand’s other prebiotic sodas, the Olipop Orange Cream soda contains nine grams of plant-based fiber, which is said to aid digestion and overall gut health. Additionally, each can has only five grams of sugar — a significant decrease in sugar content compared to the typical sodas on grocery store shelves. The best part, though? Olipop doesn’t taste like it’s trying too hard to be healthy – it’s just that good.

How can I buy the Olipop Orange Cream soda?

Olipop’s Orange Cream Soda is available online at drinkolipop.com, as well as in major retail stores nationwide. Unlike past releases of this flavor, fans no longer have to worry about Olipop Orange Cream flying off shelves.

How can I try the Olipop Orange Cream soda?

To celebrate the return of its popular Orange Cream flavor, Olipop is creating its first-ever soda drive-thru in Los Angeles on Monday, May 12. The Olipop drive-thru will feature mocktails and dirty sodas, exclusive merchandise, and of course, plenty of cans of Olipop Orange Cream.

The featured Orange Cream beverages include a Cereal Milk Soda made with vanilla almond milk and fruity cereal, and a Dirty Protein Soda that combines Olipop’s Orange Cream flavor with Koia’s Vanilla Bean Protein Shake. Or, if you prefer Coke or Pepsi over orange soda, the Olipop drive-thru will also have a Spicy Pickle Soda that’s a twist on Dua Lipa’s Spicy Coke. The mocktail combines pickle brine and jalapeno juice with Olipop Vintage Cola for a savory addition to the classic flavor.

Olipop fans outside of the Los Angeles area don’t need to have Orange Cream FOMO: from May 12 to May 19, the brand will host a virtual drive-thru at drinkolipop.com/drivethru, where participants can enter to win an Olipop Drive-Thru Kit. This exclusive giveaway – which will be gifted to 1,000 fans — includes the ingredients to recreate the Olipop drive-thru mocktails, or a 12-pack of Orange Cream soda. After trying Olipop Orange Cream for myself, it’s safe to say I will be entering the virtual drive-thru.
