There’s nothing quite as special as walking through the Kingston Public Market on a bright summer morning, enjoying the sun and watching locals wander through the stalls.
Kingston is lucky to have a vibrant culture and some killer artisans who sell their goods on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays in Springer Market Square. If you decide to take a visit, here are seven stalls you definitely shouldn’t miss.
1. Baycrest Farms

Although their apple cider is the perfect thing for fall, the real star of the Baycrest Farms stall during the summer is the flowers. From fresh cut stems to brighten your significant other’s day to little potted plants to brighten up your apartment, these blooms are a must-have.
2. Edible Earth

Bored of campus food? For a nice change, try Edible Earth’s kimchi. Homegrown cabbage fermented with spices is both great for your gut and delicious.
Even better? The owner, Sarah, is a South Korean ex-pat who farms full-time and spends weekends selling her products in order to put her kids through school. #momgoals
3. Henderson Farms

Henderson Farms have perfected their craft through three generations of hard work. This stall has some of the best preserves in Kingston, ranging from their organic Wild Blueberry Jam to the more adventurous Cranberry & Jalapeño Jelly.
4. Honey Wagon Farms

For an extra dose of cuteness with your grocery shopping, visit this stall run by a retired couple who have been farming for the past ten years. Their dedication means that whether it be kale, melons or hot peppers, they’ll quickly fulfill all of your fruit and veg needs.
5. Three Red Aprons

You may recognize Three Red Aprons from their new brick and mortar store on Bath Rd, but for those of us who prefer to do our shopping in the great outdoors, their market stall is just as good. Keep an eye out for the Bourbon Bacon Jam – it sells out faster than Drake tickets in Toronto.
6. The Frugal Farm

For the carnivores in the crowd, the farmer’s market can seem like an endless maze of vegetables. Enter The Frugal Farm, a local farm selling farm-raised heritage meats. Place your custom order for beef, pork, lamb or goat and make the most of the summer grilling season.
7. Nikita Herbs and Preserves

After picking up some lettuce at Honey Wagon Farms, pop on over to Nikita Herbs and Preserves to find the perfect salad dressing to pair it with. The herbed vinegars are great, and the spiced oils are especially nice for dipping bread and marinating olives.
8. Three Dog Winery

The name alone combines two of the best things in the world: dogs and wine. The Three Dog Winery is located in Prince Edward County and has been fourteen years in the making. With unique, delicious offerings such as the Sweet Sister Late Harvest Vidal, I’d say that all of their hard work has definitely paid off.
