The Wild Fig Cafe is a cafe just a stone drop away from the beautiful Scarborough Beach. When our close friends brought my mom and I to lunch, I knew we were in for a treat from the moment we walked in. There was a line out of the door, and the chairs for people to sit on outside and the décor I could see from the entrance were of great taste.

Once we were seated inside, I noticed even more how hip and lively it was. The walls were decorated with amazing photographs of the ocean waves and Australia’s natural beauty, and even the floor had a grass carpet, creating a casual but classy atmosphere, perfect for catching up with friends. To start off, we ordered some hot drinks, and I could have sat there drinking my creamy, indulgent hot chocolate forever if I hadn’t happened to glance over the rest of the menu.

The menu selection at The Wild Fig Cafe was absolutely divine. There was everything from light and delectable toasts and salads to full and hearty main entrees, sandwiches, and burgers.

I eventually decided to get the quinoa salad with red pepper, kalamata olives, cherry tomato, beetroot, roast pumpkin, lemon dressing and haloumi cheese. It was absolutely delicious.

The salad was dressed perfectly and the contrast between the fluffy quinoa with the fresh vegetables was wonderful. The creaminess and smokiness from the haloumi cheese brought everything together. My plate was empty before I knew it.

The Wild Fig Cafe is definitely somewhere I want to go again. Between the amazing food and the conversations with friends and family that its lovely ambience facilitates, plus the gorgeous beach views, it’s not one to be missed.
