Why You Need to Try Pressed Juicery’s New Vegan Ice Cream

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at Stanford chapter.

Welcome to Pressed Juicery. This popular California cold-pressed juice shop has garnered quite a cult customer following. Now they are further increasing their band of followers—Pressed now offers frozen versions of their juice: froyo style. Not only are they jam packed with nutrition, these frozen treats also taste incredible.

What is this sorcery?

According to Pressed, the Freeze is “a soft-serve frozen treat…using only fruits, vegetables, almonds and coconuts” while at the same time is ALSO “vegan, gluten and dairy-free”.

Pressed proudly boasts their ingredients and contrasts them with those found in other popular ice creams. For example, their Vanilla Almond flavor consists of only dates, almonds, vanilla, and water. 4 ingredients. And it tastes just as creamy as any soft-serve.

In comparison, Yogurtland’s vanilla flavor, contains a laundry list of ingredients, including, cellulose gum, maltodextrin, dextrose, vegetable diglycerides, carageenan, and guar gum, with vanilla… being the last ingredient on the list. I’m a Human Biology major and I have no idea what half those things are.

They offer a variety of fruits and seeds for toppings, as well as more unique choices such as peanut butter, almond butter, and their homemade cacao nut freezing drizzle, rose syrup, and pink Himalayan sea salt.

Vegans, lactose intolerants, and all-around health conscious people, it’s time to rejoice. You can now enjoy a delicious, refreshing, and seemingly indulgent treat that will also do your body a lot of good. Here are some flavor combinations you MUST try:

Vanilla almond freeze + cacao nut freeze drizzle + raspberries + granola

The creamy sweetness of the freeze and chocolate pairs great with the tart raspberries and grainy crunch of the granola.

Greens + blueberries + slivered almonds + hemp seeds

This combo allows you to get your veggies, antioxidants from the blueberries, healthy fats from the almonds, and a protein punch from the hemp seeds, all in one go.

Citrus + Fruit Freezes + coconut + rose syrup + pink Himalayan sea salt

This combination is fruity, tart and refreshing, which pairs perfectly with the sweetness of the rose syrup and the punch of surprise from the salt.

Roots Freeze + strawberries + chia seeds + dark chocolate goji berries

The fruity flavors found in the Roots Freeze go perfectly with the strawberries and coconut, while the richer flavors of the beets and goji berries and chocolate add a perfect complement.

This combination tastes truly decadent, and the nutty almond butter perfectly complements the combination of chocolate and strawberries.
