Date night isn’t even a thing anymore, is it? With how many amazing restaurants Brunswick offers within walking distance of campus, we should certainly make it a thing. There’s no need to break the bank (but you can if you want to). What is better than sharing food with the people we love? Bring date night back!

1. Frontier

Frontier is the perfect date night spot. It’s trendy and cool, ridiculously delicious and fresh, but not crazy expensive. Most of their appetizers come in half sizes, so you can get something to share and still have room for a meal. Their entrees can get a little pricey, but there are tons of options under 15 bucks. Holla. They arguably have the best burger in town and hands down have the best french fries in Maine.

SpoonTip: Get the vegan nachos. Just do it.

2. Little Tokyo

Little Tokyo is ideal for date night because you can get a ton of food without breaking the bank. The atmosphere is cozy and the restaurant is so busy that no one will judge you for being gross and couple-y. For an extra drunk and romantic evening split a volcano bowl, because we all know one of the keys to success in any relationship is sharing.

3. Henry and Marty’s

This is the place you want to take your girlfriend/boyfriend/lover to celebrate something special. Henry and Marty’s is pretty pricey, but they offer up a quality meal with local ingredients in an upscale environment (This place has tablecloths and real candles, which is pretty fancy by our standards).

4. Gelato Fiasco

Okay, so this isn’t going to give you a whole meal (but who says you can’t have ice cream for dinner? We think it’s totally acceptable to have ice-cream for every meal). Gelato Fiasco is the perfect spot for a casual date if you’re looking for something sweet and special without buying a whole meal. Eat it there, or get a pint to go and eat the whole thing while watching a movie at home.

#SpoonTip: For every degree below freezing Gelato Fiasco takes that percent off your purchase. So bundle up and get out there. Perfect snuggling weather.

5. Portland Pie Company

Obvi pizza is bae. Bring your bae to split a pie and get a beer. With tons of different toppings, 4 different types of dough and local ingredients, Portland Pie is the perfect place to celebrate date night.

6. The Brunswick Diner

Feeling hungry at 4 am? Do you want something greasy and delicious? Do you want breakfast for dinner? Are you really craving pancakes, but your significant other wants a lobster roll? Hit up the iconic red diner for comfort food ranging from chocolate chip pancakes to chili cheeseburgers.

7. El Camino

Margaritas, tacos, and guac. Could we possibly ask for anything more in this life than to share these three gifts from god with the person we love most? No. There’s really not. El Camino offers the best Mexican food in Brunswick and it’s charming decor makes it a little slice of heaven in the dead of winter.

#SpoonTip: They don’t take reservations, so the wait can be a little long. Order some margaritas and chips and salsa to tie you over.

Go on a date. Just do it.
