The worst thing for a college student is being hungry in the wee hours of morning, but it happens, all the time. Going to school in a small southern city initially means two things: Businesses are closed for church on Sunday’s and restaurants close between 9-10 p.m. daily. Usually, the only things in my refrigerator is a week old slice of pizza and moldy strawberries. But, don’t worry, I’m here to help satisfy those late night cravings whether it be after a long night at Willy T, a crazy night at Two Keys or if your refrigerator resembles mine.
Read all of my favorite late night bites below.
1. Tolly-Ho Restaurant
Open 24 hours daily
This go-to and most well-known diner in Lexington serves breakfast, lunch and dinner all day, everyday.
#Spoontip order the chocolate chip pancakes because they’re bomb.

2. Ellos Taco Truck
7 p.m. – 2 a.m. (hours vary)
Maybe the most underrated, affordable and delicious food in LexVegas. The Puerto Rican inspired flavors, wrapped in a tortilla will have you wanting to live in the truck’s passenger seat.
#Spoontip I rarely eat meat, but I can’t help but order the Wildcat Steak Tacos every time the truck pops up. Real talk, try them. Super affordable and worth the calories.
Visit their Facebook page for more information about where they will be next.
3. Goodfellas Pizzeria
Monday-Wednesday 11 a.m.-10 p.m. / Thursday-Saturday 11 a.m.-3:30 a.m.
Walk in the back of Two Keys or head downtown to their North Mill Street location for a slice of New York City. This is by far my favorite pizza in Lexington, and I like to think of myself as quite the pizza connoisseur.
#Spoontip The line is out the door at the downtown location most weekends, but their pepperoni pizza is well worth the wait. Or, if you’re feeling some sort of way, you can always have it delivered.

4. Girlsgirlsgirls Burritos
Thursday-Saturday 5 p.m.-2:30 a.m.
This hidden gem is nestled inside of Best Friend Bar. It’s great for grabbing a bite while out drinking, or when you’re craving a carb-filled snack. Besides out-of-this-world burritos, they serve several different kinds of quesadillas, chips and salsa and even a few sweet bites.
#Spoontip you can order online too. Walking into a restaurant and ordering seems like so much work. You know it, I know it, and so does Girlsgirlsgirls. They may not deliver, but they have made it a little bit more lazy-friendly for us college students with their order online option.

5. Tin Roof
I don’t know what’s better about this place: that you can eat here or drink here.
Tin Roof is one of the most popular bars near campus, but they actually have yummy, not-your-typical-bar-food, too. The kitchen closes between 10 p.m. and 11 p.m., but the bar side stays open until 3 a.m. Grab a late dinner here to soak up all the alcohol that you’ll drink when the kitchen closes. It just may be the best pregame spot.
#Spoontip try their quesadillas. The combinations can sound out of the ordinary, but the flavors work perfectly.

Next time you’re starving at a random hour of the day or night, you know where to stop. Seriously though, college students aren’t known for eating at acceptable “adult hours,” so it’s about time someone said something.
