Disney is no stranger to having over the top themes and concepts in their parks and their food is no exception. Epcot's Food and Wine Festival takes place annually in Orlando, Florida and showcases food from all sorts of countries and cultures from around the world. But no matter the occasion, Disney doesn't stop from having a few fun twists up their sleeve at some very affordable prices.

The Light Lab

A new booth, or more appropriately, room at the 2018 Food and Wine festival speaks to any food and science lover at heart. The room is decked out with neon signs in cool shapes, connecting the different boards from around the room. The boards are all covered with different research and scientific equations representing the various intricacies that go into the science of taste. The main attraction at this booth even has its own dedicated board and experiment attached to it!

The Phosphorescent Phreeze ($7.00) is a non-alcoholic frozen drink that comes in an Erlenmeyer flask for you to keep. The "phosphorescent" part in the Phosphorescent Phreeze stems from its ability to give off light without using any heat. The Phreeze has 3 distinct layers: Green Apple, Mango and Cotton Candy. The flavors blend together in a way that gives it a sweet yet refreshing taste to the drink which was a perfect way to cool off in the Florida heat.

The Cheese Studio

Our next stop is a cheese lovers absolute dream. The booth features a savory beef dish, a delicious cheese flight, and a mouth-watering dessert. The Cheese Trio ($5.50) features 3 different types of cheeses, all in different forms and paired with different items. The 1st is a puff pastry topped with a Garlic and Fine Herbs Cheese and Apricot jam. The second is a Shallot and Chive Cheese in a smoked salmon pinwheel. The third and final cheese is a Pepper Cheese dolloped atop a strawberry macaron. The cheeses were absolutely amazing. The flavors all went together very well, especially the Pepper Cheese and the macaron — which surprised me quite a bit!

The dessert that is available at the booth was my personal favorite of the day. The featured dessert at the booth was the Maple Bourbon Cheesecake ($4.50) with Maple Bourbon Cream, Caramel and Pecan Crunch and boy does it live up to the maple part of it's name! The first thing that came to mind when I first took a bite was maple syrup in a cake form, but the hints of bourbon in the cheesecake gave it a special taste. The caramel sauce in the cheesecake made it hands down the best dessert I have had in ages and got a big bonus from me for also being vegan friendly.
