Prince Tea House is the perfect blend of modern and Regency-era vibes. I mean just look at that beautiful spread.

Like most of the rest of the world, I have been indulging in season 2 of the Netflix adaptation of Julia Quinn’s Bridgerton. The return to the scandals and drama of Bridgerton means that my itch for a good, old-fashioned, Regency-era tea party is acting up again, and unfortunately, there just aren’t that many great tea places in Connecticut. So when we received an invitation for my cousin’s birthday party at Prince Tea House, I knew it was the perfect remedy for my craving. After all, that place just screams Bridgerton vibes.

Prince Tea House is a tea house with locations scattered across the five boroughs of New York City, and as of this article, does not have any plans to franchise outside of the city. I’ve only been to three locations, but it’s my understanding that every location is decorated to be aesthetically pleasing.

The Main Event

At my cousin’s party, that aspect of the tea house certainly did not disappoint. The guests could order as much tea as they desired, and although Prince Tea House has many delicious teas, I ordered the Lavender Green Milk Tea.

But a tea house wouldn’t be a tea house without the food, and my cousin’s party did not disappoint. Since it was a party, the portions were significantly larger than what you would get if you just ordered as a regular customer, but the options were the same.

And if you want a healthier option, they do have salads, including this delightful Avocado Salad.

Since Prince Tea House is an Asian-owned/run franchise, there are some dishes that cater to an Asian palate, such as the Shrimp Lollipops, and the Fried Squid Tails.

The main event, however, is the dessert. Once again, since it was a birthday party, my cousin bought their own cake. However, if guests wanted other desserts, they could order them. And since it would be an abomination to visit Prince Tea House and not order their desserts, we ordered several of them, including the Matcha Crepe Cake and the Sweet Purple Yam Crepe Cake. Of course, we couldn't miss out on their waffles!

All in all, Prince Tea House is the ideal spot for afternoon tea, or a spot of lunch. The next time you find yourself visiting New York City, definitely make sure that you don’t skip on visiting this hidden gem.
