The Daily Beet features delicious vegetarian food, a wide variety of smoothies, and a juice bar. They focus on incorporating farm-fresh ingredients and promoting healthy eating. They offer tons of vegan and gluten-free meals, all of which are presented artistically. The ambiance of the restaurant is beautiful, and the employees were kind enough to give us some delicious food to try.

First, smoothies!

We couldn’t have brunch without starting off with yummy smoothies.

Mango Lassi

Claire Mulhollem

Claire: This smoothie was the perfect mix of mango, coconut, vanilla, and agave, making it sweet with tropical flavors. I was left wishing there was more in my cup.

Skinny Green

Julia MacCary

Julia: Sneakily healthy! This flavorful smoothie packs in servings of veggies and fruit with spinach, kale, pineapple, bananas, and mango, while still tasting great.

Breakfast Tacos

Claire: These tacos, with avocado, pickled red onions, and sweet potatoes, were a great way to start my day. They also had chimichurri sauce which added a little extra flavor to each bite. This creative mix of flavors was definitely a success.

Kale Salad

Julia: Light and fresh, this dish featured parmesan cheese, pumpkin (substituted for sunflower seeds), zante currants, and a lemon vinaigrette. It was a nice size and filling.

The Favorite: Beet Benedict

Julia: This unique dish was comprised of a mix of avocado toast, eggs benedict, and even some miso. A piece of wheat bread with avocado, a poached egg, spinach, and a miso-beet hollandaise sauce made this dish my personal favorite. Super unique, 10/10 recommend.

Claire: This dish was also the shining star of my meal. They combined unlikely ingredients together and made something that tasted like it was meant to be.

Eating at the Daily Beet was such a treat, we definitely want to come back and try more! I’m curious to try the Banana Oatmeal Pancakes and their PB & J smoothie in particular. We had a lot of fun trying their food because of their creative mixes of ingredients that make a tasty, healthy meal.

Our trip to the Daily Beet was before the unfortunate outbreak of COVID-19 that has sent students home and sadly closed all of the Daily Beet's locations indefinitely. We hope that, once it is safe to do so, these restaurants reopen and continue to serve delicious and nutritious foods. Our thoughts are with everyone who has been affected by this novel virus.
