Ice cream is always on my agenda. It's a priority and a necessity. After scouring high and low for the perfect pick-me-up, I've rounded up the absolute best ice cream near Emory that ATL has to offer. Schedule in weekly ice cream runs with your friends; it's called #selfcare.

Jeni's Ice Cream

Once you go Jeni's, there's no turning back. If you ask anyone on campus, it's most likely everyone's go-to ice cream spot. From Brambleberry Crisp to Cream Puff, Jeni's offers creative flavors that are sure to please anyone's palette. My personal favorite is their flight of trios including Dark Chocolate Truffle, Gooey Butter Cake, and Cream Puff.

Sweet-Stack Creamery

Stacks on stacks on stacks. Sweet-Stack puts their spin on a traditional ice cream sandwich situation. Their lineup of ice cream goodies includes ice cream-stuffed donuts, ice cream-sandwiched cookies, and your classic cup or cone. Don't even get me started on their flavors. From Cookie Monster, a cookie dough ice cream with Oreos and blue frosting, to Amber Rose, cotton candy flavored ice cream with pop rocks, Sweet-Stack is totally next level.

Honeysuckle Gelato

If you ever find yourself needing a gelato fix in Ponce, stop by Honeysuckle. What started out as a food truck in 2011 has transformed into an Atlanta sweet treat staple. Combining the richness of gelato with the decadence of Southern flavors, Honeysuckle has definitely made its mark, offering bold gelato and striking sorbets. Some acclaimed favorites include Sea-Salted Caramel Brownie, Bourbon Coffee Caramel, Brown Butter Crunch, and German Chocolate Cake.

Butter and Cream

Homemade, handcrafted, and small-batched. Butter and Cream prides itself in its use of the absolute freshest ingredients. In keeping with our childhood classics, Butter and Cream infuses flavors that are nothing short of unique and inventive. The notorious go-to's are Cashew Creme Brûlée, Butterscotch Brownie, and Freckled Chocolate.

Sweet Charlie's

The unique thing about this locale is its pure craft of ice cream indulgences. With each dessert made to order on a cold surface below 20 degrees, Sweet Charlie's ice cream is beyond fresh and decadent. The process begins with a choice between premium ice cream, vegan cream, and nonfat yogurt. Then, you decide how you want to roll (a cup or on their signature oven baked glazed donut). Finally, you choose your flavor: think Strawberry Cheesecake, Mint Oreo, Coffee & Donuts, and Chocolate Peanut Butter Pretzels. Finish it off with a topping of your choice: M&Ms, caramel drizzle, graham cracker, roasted marshmallow, or donut bits.

Momo Cafe

Residing alongside neighborhood ramen hub Momonoki, Momo Cafe is the perfect place to have a post-ramen treat. Offering an array of coffee and Japanese-inspired drinks, Momo is renowned for crafting some unique Japanese-inspired desserts all made in-house. Innovative desserts such as Oolong Cheesecake and Matcha Lemon Tarts perfectly complement their matcha green tea and black sesame soft serve. All around, a 10/10 experience for the adventurous foodies.

Voga Italian Gelato

Conveniently located in Inman Park, Voga is the go-to dessert spot after your tapas at Barcelona or sashimi dinner for two at MF Sushi. Voga is the real deal when it comes to authentic Italian gelato. Gelato pops, sweet/savory crepes, and espresso-infused affogatos just to name a few.

Queen of Cream

The queen has arrived. Their motto: "flavor first without the shortcuts." Located right in the heart of Inman Park, Queen of Cream prides itself in serving only the best premium ice cream to satisfy the modern tastebuds. Some of their classics include Sprinkle Cookie, Lavender Honeycomb, and Cold Brew Coffee + Cocoa Nibs.

I hope this round-up inspires you to get adventurous with your sweet treats. Whether classic's the move or bold's your mood, know that there's a sweet treat out there with your name all over it.
