The Best Food Trucks to Hit Up in Central Ohio

I don’t know about you, but when I think summer I think FOOD TRUCKS. There is nothing better than a food truck festival or even a wedding or grad party catered with the best food trucks. You get all kinds of variety and a little taste of all your favorite food. For all of you Central Ohioans, I’ve made your life just a little easier with a list of the best food trucks in the area.

Moe’s Original Barbecue

Located both in Granville and Newark, Moe’s is the #1 place in Central Ohio where you can get authentic Alabama style BBQ! If you’re constantly craving BBQ (like me), you’re in luck because Moe’s is on the go with one of the best food trucks in the area. Get award winning wings and your pulled pork fixin’ at your next catered event.

Mikey’s Late Night Slice

If you live in Columbus, you’ve probably had the delight of trying Late Night Slice. On most weekends, their “PizzaAssault Trucks” can be found on the streets of Columbus. Thankfully, the company even makes itself readily available to cater your events.

The Cheesy Truck

Yep, here is it. Ohio’s OG grilled cheese food truck, or as they put it, “the big cheese on the streets of Columbus!” But wait, there’s more. The Cheesy Truck serves ALL KINDS of cheese for your on the go cravings. From mac n’ cheese, cheesy tots, pulled pork & cheese and even some bacon in the mix, there is no surprise that these guys made the list for best food trucks around here. Oh, cheesy goodness!

Sock Hop Soda Shop

Giving traditional food trucks a run for their money, Sock Hop Soda Shop will take you right back to the 1950s. According to the founder of the shop, the unique experience “features the great food, music, clothes and fun that defined one of the greatest times in our country’s history.” You’ll definitely want to add this one to your bucket list.

Mai Chau

What started as a Viet inspired street food restaurant in downtown Granville is also one of Central Ohio’s best food trucks! Mai Chau on Prospect is another local food truck that’ll cater to your cravings wherever your next event may be.

Barrio

Located in Cleveland (and definitely worth the drive up north) is everyone’s favorite tacos. Barrio serves up some killer tacos, and their food truck can be booked for special events, company lunch breaks, concerts, and more!

Pitabilities

The Pitabilities food truck experience features fresh made-to-order pitas for all to enjoy. Their fanatically loyal customers all rave about this food truck, and I have to say I completely agree. I had Pitabilities at a Columbus Crew soccer game, and they even brought the truck to my school (Denison University) for senior week.

Ray Ray’s Hog Pit

Ray Ray’s Hog Pit has locations in Clintonville, Franklinton and Westerville, and they also have a food truck of course! Their St. Louis style BBQ just can’t be beat, and they are always ready to cater your next event.

Mya’s Fried Chicken

Catch Mya’s Fried Chicken truckin’ around on the streets of Columbus. Everything is scratch made with this food truck, and the quality never disappoints. This summer, you can find them on High Street, Livingston Avenue, Morse Crossing and more! Just check out their website for the full schedule.

The Burrito Bus

You’ll love these fresh made-to-order burrito’s from The Burrito Bus. They have also published a list of locations where you can find them this summer! Whether you are on North High Street, at OSU, or even Mount Caramel Hospital, chances are you’ll see these guys rolling around town.

Mixing Bowl Asian Grill

The Mixing Bowl food truck is bringing Asian food-goodness to an event near you! Start with your choice of noodles, rice, salad, burritos or tacos and add your favorite proteins and toppings for a food truck experience you’ll never forget.

If you’re from Central Ohio, you probably know that there are amazing food trucks all over the place. Narrowing it down to the best food trucks was tricky, but in my opinion, this list consists of the best of the best. Whether you’re looking for street food downtown or if you’re catering an event, these trucks have got you covered.
