Talking Tapas: Bocado Restaurant Review

There are more restaurants to Worcester than on Shrewsbury Street. Even though we love restaurants like Volturno, off Shrewsbury street there is a great food scene including the well known Mezcal and our new favorite – Bocado.

Bocado Tapas Wine Bar offers more than 40 different tapas, or small plates with a Spanish-American flare. Since the plates are small, you don’t feel bad ordering 3 rounds of 8 plates for your dinner party of 6…. because that has most definitely happened. #guilty

You can choose from a variety of salads, charcuterie plates and cheese plates, as well as hot and cold tapas. They even offer “platos para dos” (plates for two) for you and bae or just you…because you love yourself .

With so many options on the menu it can be a bit overwhelming. A must try is the “Queso de Cabra con Miel” – fried goat cheese paired with bread. Yes you read your favorite words correctly. Fried. Cheese. Bread.

Other favorites of ours include the the mini shrimp and parmesan burgers with hot cherry pepper sauce known as “hamburguease de gambas.” We also love the bacon wrapped scallops known as “vieiras con trufa y tocino,” which is the perfect surf n’ turf combo.

I highly recommend adventuring off the hill and trying this dangerously delicious restaurant. No matter what you get off the menu, you will not be disappointed and chances are you will keep coming back for more. Just don’t forget to extend the invite to us as well.
