I’m never one to pass up a good burger. So when I heard that the Snack Shack had some of the best in town, I decided to see what the place was all about.  The diner is easy to miss but, once you try the food for the first time, this place will be on your radar for the rest of your life. The Snack Shack has tons of menu choices, including the all important “breakfast served all day” option which I believe should be a requirement for all restaurants to have. But I knew I was there to get a burger and, after looking over their overwhelming amount of options, I finally went with the double jumbo western bacon cheeseburger; a masterpiece of a burger which contained two 1/2 pound patties, bacon, cheese, onion rings and barbecue sauce all piled between two giant buns.

When my food came out I was absolutely stunned. Maybe I don’t get out enough, but seeing this massive burger on my plate was easily the highlight of my week. I expected it to be big, but this burger exceeded my wildest dreams. Looking at it made me feel like I had stepped into an episode of Man vs. Food. The fries were delicious, but clearly the centerpiece of my plate was the barbecue-sauce-covered behemoth staring at me. I’ve eaten a lot of burgers in my lifetime but this particular one forced me to do something I’ve never had to before in my entire life: eat a cheeseburger with a fork and knife. As soon as I took my first bite I knew I was in love. The barbecue sauce was tangy, the bacon crispy and the meat tender, juicy and delicious. The onion rings on top were also some of the best I’ve ever had. After that first bite I knew I had to finish the monster, I could not let a bite of that perfect creation go to waste. Twenty minutes of pure bliss later, I had finished every crumb on my plate.

I try not to overstate things when it comes to food but the burger I ate at the Snack Shack was the most satisfying burger I have ever had in my life. It’s the type of food that transcends a regular eating experience and approaches the levels of food euphoria. If God had to endorse a cheeseburger, I can’t imagine it being any burger besides this one. If you’ve never been to the Snack Shack before, get down there now, order a double jumbo burger and prepare to spend the rest of your day in a blissful, beautiful food coma.
