I never thought I’d find it, but here it is—the place I am getting my coffee from now on.

Sami’s small, green-roofed kiosk sits on Virginia Avenue between 21st and 22nd street, usually accompanied by a long line that’s proven to be worth the wait. Sami works the stand by himself, consistently making perfect, delicious cups of specialty coffee as he chats with customers.

The prices are super low, hovering around $1.50-2.50 per cup—cash only for now—, and you get way more than you pay for. Sami’s cappuccino and macchiato are better than the gourmet coffees I’ve paid $4 for at cafés. I’m leaving my Starbucks gold card behind and never going back. No excuses, this place is worth the walk even if it is out of the way.
