Sake-Tumi is a local Asian-fusion restaurant located in downtown Binghamton, right across from the bars. Just hop on a Downtown or West side shuttle bus and enter the realm of delectable Asian-fusion food with an ambiance that exceeds expectations.

As the hostess sits you at a table, observe the interesting photographs, dark red walls and classic chandeliers hanging from the ceiling; all while listening to relaxing yet upbeat classical music playing in the background.

Choose between full entrees or sushi rolls as you embark on this journey of Asian cuisine. As an avid-Asian food lover, I recommend the Miso-glazed Salmon entree, which features a seared piece of salmon served with Chinese vegetables in a tangy marinade sauce. If you’re in the mood for some sushi, the Super Crunchy, Summer roll and Alaskan pieces top the list. And of course, this meal has to end with dessert! Choose from 3 flavors of ice-cream, cheesecake egg roll and molten chocolate cake to serve as the perfect end to your meal.

The overall ambiance of the place is cool yet classic. Although service was not as great as I expected, the sushi is still worth it for the price and ambiance. As a well-experienced sushi critic, I would rate the sushi about a 7.5/10 in quality, taste and overall appeal.

On Tuesdays and Thursdays, the restaurant has an ongoing special: sushi for $1. During Restaurant Week, Saki-Tumi is offering a three-course lunch for $10 or a three-course dinner for $20. Either way, you’re sure to find something to love. So go check out this hip restaurant for Restaurant Week and beyond!
