Rodrigue’s Coffee House: Not Your Average PSL

I’m sure you’ve passed by that cube-like building dozens of times. You might have even poked your head in to try to get a sense of what that tiny hipster hub is all about. But I’m here to tell you that Rodrigue’s Coffee House should be your new go-to chill spot.

Rod’s is Fordham’s only student-run business. Offering strictly organic and free trade coffee and tea at a remarkably low cost, it aims to provide every member of the “ramily” with affordable, sustainable, delicious libations. With its mismatched couches, tables and chairs, Rod’s provides a significantly more laid-back environment than that of any other study spot on campus, while also fostering a great ambiance to grab a coffee and chill with a friend. It has even adopted a new mission statement, aiming to cultivate a more welcoming, understanding environment for all people, making it somewhat of a haven on campus.
Rod’s is constantly offering fun new drinks, as well as seasonally-appropriate flavors year-round. I highly recommend ordering a pumpkin pie and spiced brown sugar cappuccino; I’d say it’s the PSL’s greatest competitor, and it has significantly fewer calories and chemicals.  I also suggest trying Rod’s hot chocolate. It’s the best hot cocoa I’ve ever had. Ever. (Pro tip: sprinkle some cinnamon on top of that frothy, chocolatey goodness and you’ll melt into a world of sweet, warm heaven).

If your mouth isn’t watering right now then you’re probably Ebenezer Scrooge or the Grinch or something. But if any of this seems like it’d totally be your thing, hop on over to Rod’s and order yourself a yummy drink, listen to some music, and chat with the person next to you. Rod’s is more than just a coffee shop; it’s a really welcoming community of people who love to make friends, sip coffee, and be goofy.
