A restaurant proud of its roots, Jimmy John’s began with an ambitious 19-year-old trying to start his own business. With little money, Jimmy John Liataud opened the first restaurant in 1983 with just the basics: a refrigerator, an oven, a freezer and a meat slicer.
Today, Jimmy John’s differentiates itself from other sandwich-making powerhouses through their cold subs and 8-inch, one-size-fits-all option.

The fresh selection of filler-free meats makes JJ’s a carnivore’s paradise. From the genoa salami to the hand cut tomatoes, the wholesome ingredients combine to make delicious, healthy sandwiches that won’t make you feel guilty for eating out.

When you walk inside you’re greeted by fun neon signs and a warm atmosphere, and then your eyes are led to the classic black and white board hosting all of the prices and tasty menu item descriptions. After you make the difficult decision of what to try, like the Pepe or Big John, there are only a few minutes separating you from sandwich wonderland.

Most of the sandwiches are between $5 and $6, so along with a side of chips and a drink, you’re looking at a 10 buck lunch—not a bad price for the quality you receive. The best part?
