In Malaysia, local snacks and treats are slowly disappearing, making way for foreign snacks. Thankfully, a good amount of local snacks can be found in stores such as Mydin. Here are 3 interesting snacks (and they are all Malaysian-made).

1. Mamee Monster

This instant-noodle-looking snack is definitely tasty (crunchy too). I guess that's why Australia, Singapore and Indonesia made the decision to import Mamee. The description on the packaging says "Snek Mi", which means "noodle snack". Available in flavors such as chicken, spicy and BBQ. They can be found on Amazon

2.Ribena Pastilles

Blackcurrants are not a thing in America. But did you know of their high Vitamin C content? That's exactly why the Ribena drink was manufactured: to prevent scurvy back in those days. Years went by and the drink is still popular in the UK and in commonwealth countries such as Malaysia. Due to Ribena's popularity, Ribena Pastilles were invented in Malaysia: chewy and pleasantly sweet, also meets your Vitamin C needs. There's no other snack like it, especially if you consider its origins, which is what makes it interesting.

3.Roller Coaster

These are basically potato rings. Potato chips, ring-shaped: how can that not be interesting? Flavors include: Cheese, BBQ, Sweet and Spicy, Samurai Curry. Some people like to put one around each finger and consume them finger by finger.
