Sushi Fuku is the Chipotle of sushi in Oakland. Its fast-paced sushi assembly line and super-fresh ingredients allow you to get in there, get the job done, and leave feeling oh-so satisfied. The crazy amount of available ingredients allows you to be in total control of your sushi experience with hilarious slogans and cool workers that up the awesome factor along the way.

In case you need some more convincing, here are four reasons why you should reply with “absofukulutely” the next time your friends suggest sushi night.

 1. The freshest ingredients

The first thing you see when you step up to place your order at Sushi Fuku is a long line of beautiful, fresh ingredients. Once you order, you get to watch as the sushi masters put together your meal right in front of your eyes (faster than you can say “fuku”).

You can rest assured that you’ll be getting some top-notch fresh-tasting food and never, ever be served soggy or mushy rice. Life’s too short to settle for soggy sushi.

2. You don’t have to order sushi

Sushi Fuku has a lot to offer in terms of menu items other than sushi. If you’re not in the mood to roll it, you can choose to bowl it instead and order a salad or rice bowl. You’ve probably never had a sushi restaurant ask you if you would like to “bowl it,” but don’t knock it ’til you try it.

A rice bowl is perfect if you want something hearty and filling. Go with the salad if you’re not in the mood to carb-load. The restaurant also offers options like miso soup, edamame, tempura and teriyaki chicken.

3. The limit does not exist

There’s no pressure to stay within the confines of sushi norms when you walk into Sushi Fuku. The list of ingredients to choose from includes everything from pineapple and mango to chicken and cream cheese, so you can pretty much create anything your crazy, sushi-loving heart desires.

Whether you decide to roll it or bowl it, you can pick from one of the menu items or put together any combination of rice, protein, veggies and sauce you desire and watch as your sushi creation is made before your eyes. You can even opt for soy paper instead of the classic seaweed paper.

4. Awesome t-shirts

Sushi Fuku takes the cake for the greatest slogans ever. Lucky for you, the restaurant sells t-shirts with slogans that read “Get Fuku (Lucky),” “Absofukulutely” and “Fuku All Night Long.” Brilliant.
