Last week CoreLife had a 50% discount for students, so I thought it was the perfect time to try it for the first time. I'm usually a very picky eater, but lately, I have been open to trying new things. Although I did love my food at Core, my experience was weird and made my relationship with the restaurant turn into a love/hate one. Here's why:

Let me start with the atmosphere. I love it. I like the decoration everywhere and that they have their small garden inside the restaurant. Honestly, everything was going amazing until I saw the menu. Here's where the hate part of the relationship starts: I didn't find anything that called my attention. In my opinion, the menu options are too "green" for my taste. After struggling with what to order, I decided on a grain bowl with steak and had to modify it entirely with what I wanted. Boy, it was hard.

I struggled a lot with deciding what I wanted since I like eating healthy, but with meat options on top. After holding the line and confusing the staff with what I wanted, I finally made my bowl.

After feeling overwhelmed with the food options, it was time to choose my drink, and here we go again. I had no idea of what I wanted to drink because there were so many options. I decided to go with fresh lemonade, and it was perfect. But again, I don't like to feel overwhelmed when having to choose my food and drinks.

The final outcome was a grain steak bowl with quinoa, black beans, broccoli, sprouts, and steak broth, accompanied by a delicious fresh lemonade. It was amazing, and I loved it, but I completely hated that it took me forever to make this bowl even though it has very few ingredients.

Dear CoreLife, I hate that I love you. I hate that I already love the food and I have only been once. I hate that I'm still overwhelmed. But, I love your food and drinks; they are fantastic. I hope we can meet once again and change our love/hate relationship to a loved one.
