Going home for breaks are the best; you get to catch up with friends and family but most importantly, you are reunited with your favorite food joints.

Luckily for me and the residents of Old Towne Orange, we are located in the backyard of Chapman University and have abundant food places are at our fingertips. Although we come home from our own college, we are welcomed to living in the backyard of another.

Here are just some of the food perks of living in the backyard of a college town:

Diversity

College towns have to appeal to many different types of people to make everyone feel like they are welcomed and have found a home away from home.

Old Towne Orange has many places to offer their community, for example:

Chinese: Yen Ching Restaurant

Indian: Masala Zone Fresh Indian Grill

Mexican: Gabbi’s Mexican Kitchen, Avila’s El Ranchito

American: LinX, The Filling Station Cafe, Haven Gastropub: Watson’s Soda Fountain & Cafe

Italian: Francoli Gourmet, Café Lucca

They have a little something for whatever you may be in the mood for.

Late Night Hours

It’s a college town so closing hours exceeds your normal 9 pm time. This not only is beneficial for the students that stay on campus over breaks, but also for those of us who are in need of a midnight snack or need a place to grab some grub with old high school friends.

Variety

With diversity comes variety. Want pizza but conflicted between thin, thick, or stuffed? Forget Dominos, Old Town Orange has a different pizza joint on every corner so you have tons of options!

#SpoonTip: Check out this article if pizza is the love of your life.

Coming back to a college town after leaving your own makes the breaks even more enjoyable. From my home college town to my new one, see you soon!
