Cold Stone Creamery Is Debuting Its Own Cereal This Month

This article is written by a student writer from the Spoon University at UFL chapter.

If you’re one of the ice cream lovers who Birthday Cake Remix’d your way into a loyalty to Cold Stone Creamery, then you’re in for a treat this summer. Thanks to a new partnership with Malt-O-Meal (owned by Post, the company behind Fruity Pebbles, Raisin Bran, Honey Bunches, and many other cereals), Cold Stone is about to market its brand in a new way — in crunchy cereal form to be exact.

If you haven’t had the pleasure of trying out the ole’ creamery, here’s the gist: You pick an ice cream flavor and topping(s), and watch the pros mix together your creation on a cold marble slab to keep it from melting. Pretty genius, huh? And now some of Cold Stone’s most popular creations can be enjoyed as a cereal.

The news surfaced after food blogger Snack Cellar, who was sent a sample of the cereal from Post, posted a photo of it to Instagram. The cereal comes in two flavors: Birthday Cake Remix and Our Strawberry Blonde, both of which are on the list of Cold Stone’s well-loved signature flavors.

The Birthday Cake Remix, according to @snackcellar, is “cake batter flavored cereal with chocolate flavored marshmallows.” As exciting as this sounds, it does stray a bit from the classic Cold Stone flavor. When ordered in store, the Birthday Cake Remix consists of Birthday Cake ice cream, one brownie, fudge sauce, and rainbow sprinkles.

A little different, but still delicious, the Our Strawberry Blonde cereal is made up of “honey graham and strawberry flavored cereal with marshmallows.” Looks like these two cereal flavors are hopping on the Lucky Charms bandwagon with a common marshmallow theme.

Whether you’re a cereal-lover, an ice cream-lover, or both, this news is sweet news. The two cereal flavors are debuting this month in stores nationwide, so keep an eye out for them on the shelves soon.

A self-proclaimed free spirit. I'm just here to share my journey and hear a little bit about everyone else's. So let's eat a little, read a little, and write a lot.
