Last month, 85°C Bakery announced that they would be discontinuing their weekly 85 cent coffee Mondays. While the coffee would remain on the regular menu, it would no longer be discounted on Mondays.
This elicited a variety of reactions from customers.
One felt she lost her sweet excuse to additionally pile up on bakery items.
Another customer displayed how special this Monday staple was to her, stating how long she drove just for their coffee.
A past employee commented on how boring the bakery would become without the event on Mondays.
And for others, there were more important things to worry about than the loss of a Monday tradition, like the image that was attached to the announcement.
Regardless, this will be a very sad loss, especially for coffee lovers. 85 cent coffee Mondays, thankfully, won’t be over until December 18 (relieving news for UCI students who need their 85 cent coffee fix for finals), but we wouldn’t wait until then to get any.
