If you follow Beyonce on Instagram, you know that she and Jay-Z went on a 22-day vegan diet a few months back. Bey was such a fan of her healthy venture that she recently introduced a vegan food delivery service called 22 Days Nutrition. Unfortunately, the meals are pretty pricey—especially for college students—averaging around $10-$17 per plate.
As a fellow Beyhive member in New Orleans, here are some of the top spots in New Orleans that cater to vegans. After all, if Beyonce is doing it, we should too.
1. Café Carmo
This Central/South American restaurant keeps vegans in mind in the majority of their dishes. Their food is incredibly unique, including an addictive citrus chili vinaigrette as well as the Rico sandwich, which uses grilled plantains as a substitute for bread. They also make vegan ham and cheese, which can be added to any dish. Word is that their cacao juice is a must-have.
