You No Longer Have To Pay Extra For Non-Dairy Milk At Starbucks

Today, Starbucks announced that holidays are returning to the coffee chain next Thursday, November 7, with the release of the seasonal menu (including holiday food and beverages), and launch of the iconic Starbucks holiday cup. Beyond the menu, though, Santa Starbucks is also giving customers another huge gift: as of November 7, the company will no longer charge extra for customizing beverages with non-dairy milk. This change makes it even easier to customize your Starbies drink. Customers in U.S. and Canada company-owned and operated stores will no longer pay extra for non-dairy milk at Starbucks– including soymilk, oatmilk, almond milk and coconut milk.

Starbucks is eliminating a surcharge for non-dairy milk.

Currently, substituting non-dairy milk in your beverage typically costs about 70 cents, but can clock in around 80 cents in some areas (on my college campus, for example, a PSL with oat milk costs an additional 85 cents). On the app, a substitution can be made at the cost of 25 loyalty stars – which can get you a free flavor modification or extra shot of espresso (the most requested drink modification). But, it doesn’t matter how you take your coffee now; according to a Starbucks press release, when this change goes into effect on November 7, “almost half of Starbucks current customers in the U.S. who pay to modify their beverage at company-operated stores will see a price reduction of more than 10%” – a huge incentive for non-dairy drinkers to continue their daily Starbucks runs in this economy.

When is the Starbucks holiday menu returning?

In addition to the upcoming removal of a non-dairy surcharge, Starbucks also announced that holidays are back on the menu beginning next Thursday, November 7. Though the chain has remained hush-hush on this year’s iconic holiday cup design and the in-store food and beverage menu options (please, Starbucks, I’m begging you to bring back the Sugar Cookie Almondmilk Latte), the brand did spread some holiday cheer with a preview of festive drinkware and gifts that will coming to Starbucks stores the same day.

What are the Starbucks holiday merch items this year?

Coffee fans can start their holiday wish lists now, as Starbucks is releasing a brand new collection of cold cups, tumblers, mugs, gift card designs, and more, all of which are sure to bring tidings of comfort and joy this holiday season. The new merchandise, which includes a limited edition Stanley cup, rhinestone-studded tumblers, and an adorable candy-striped mug, will be available beginning in stores and online on November 7 for a limited time, while supplies last.

When will Starbucks holiday products be available in grocery stores?

If you can’t wait until November 7 to kick off the holidays, there’s even better news from Starbucks Clause: Starbucks holiday coffees and creamers are returning to grocery shelves just in time for the jolliest season of the year, for a limited time. This year, Starbucks is debuting the new Starbucks Vanilla & Chocolate Cold Brew Concentrate, a new non-dairy Sugar Cookie Latte Creamer, and a new Peppermint Mocha Flavored Creamer.

The holiday lineup also features the returning Starbucks Holiday Blend (which is back for its 40th year!), Starbucks Gingerbread flavored coffee and Starbucks Peppermint Mocha flavored coffee (all available in K-Cup pods and Ground coffee), plus Peppermint Mocha and Peppermint Mocha Iced Espresso flavored bottled Frappuccinos. To make sure the holiday is extra merry Starbucks is also wrapping three of its classic Creamers — Caramel Macchiato, Cinnamon Dolce, and White Chocolate Mocha — with limited-edition holiday packaging.

In the meantime, I’ll be adding the Berry Pink Glitter Stanley to my holiday list while eagerly awaiting my holiday latte made with free oat milk on November 7.
