You Need To Try The Whole Foods Viral Berry Chantilly Matcha Latte

At first glance, you may not reach for Whole Foods’ berry chantilly cake while perusing the store’s aisles. However, the fluffy cake with delectable chantilly cream has captivated Whole Foods customers, so much so that the cafe has launched a latte with a berry chantilly syrup that content creators can’t stop praising. Most recently, fans of the flavor have taken a new approach to enjoying the fruity, sweet taste: ordering the syrup in an iced matcha latte.

What is the Whole Foods berry chantilly matcha latte?

As spring has evolved into summer, matcha has proven itself as a beverage to watch. Now a commonplace item on most coffee shop menus, the earthy beverage has truly taken off to new heights, hence the rise of creative innovations like the one found at Whole Foods.

Beth Kilpatrich, product development specialist for Whole Foods Market, isn’t particularly shocked that the inventive beverage has been a hit. “We put a lot of heart into developing the original berry chantilly latte, so it’s been exciting to see it take on new life with matcha, especially as matcha continues to trend upward. It’s no surprise these two flavors have found their way to each other,” she told Food & Wine.

The syrup combines flavors of vanilla, almond, and berries, making for the perfect sip that one content creator described as the “perfect balance of creamy … as well as the perfect level of sweetness.”

How do you order the Whole Foods berry chantilly matcha latte?

Since the viral flavored matcha has not yet made it to the official menu, to order the new drink, customers must visit one of the cafes in-person to request an iced matcha latte with berry chantilly syrup.

The drink is available only at select Whole Foods locations, and if berry and matcha are not your match made in heaven, other seasonal menu expansions include S’mores and Strawberry Mate Tea Lattes. Both of these menu items will be available starting July 2.

How do you make the Whole Foods berry chantilly matcha latte at home?

If you’re an at-home coffee and matcha maker hoping to save money while crafting coffee shop-inspired drinks, look no further than the internet, which offers plenty of recipes to recreate the Chantilly syrup in your own kitchen. Whole Foods revealed in its initial announcement that the syrup combo is nothing complicated — just a few pumps of strawberry and almond syrup from the syrup brand 1883.

And if you can’t get enough of the Chantilly flavor, you’re not alone. Other brands have taken to recreating the viral sensation with their own dupes, such as Publix’s Berry Chantilly Cake, and copycat recipes from Broma Bakery and Simply Recipes have soared to popularity. Additionally, if your local coffee shop carries 1883 syrup, there’s a good chance they can recreate the viral latte for you.

The berry chantilly flavor may unfortunately not be with us for long — the market only promised to provide the syrup until July, so hurry in and try it before it’s gone!
