Thanks to Manila Social Club in Brooklyn, the humble donut is finally getting the royal treatment it deserves. This fine-dining restaurant, which specializes in Filipino cuisine, is now offering a dazzling $100 donut completely covered in real gold. The “Golden Cristal Ube Donut” is filled with an ube (purple yam) mousse, Cristal champagne jelly, and covered with 24K gold dust and gold leaf.

An interview with Executive Chef Björn DelaCruz reveals that he initially created the extravagant donut for the holiday season, and never expected it to take the Internet by storm when he posted a picture of it on the restaurant’s Instagram.

His interest in golden desserts began when he masterfully created a doughnut with Braven White IPA icing and dusted it in gold. He worked his magic again with this new masterpiece and each ingredient has been carefully picked to hit just the right flavor notes and pay homage to his Filipino background.

If you order one of these beauties anywhere in the Tri-state area or all five boroughs, DelaCruz will deliver it himself. Just look at it in all its sparkling donut glory. I mean, look at his precision while placing those glorious golden flakes.

HAVE YOU EVER SEEN SOMETHING SO BEAUTIFUL?

Due to the current status of my bank account, I think I’ll be sticking to Dunkin’ Donuts, but a girl can dream, right?
