Here’s Where You Can Get Your First PSL Of The Season

Updated Published

Although summer’s official end isn’t until late September, pumpkin spice latte season is already upon us. As of August 14, the seasonal beverage is back on the menu at Whole Foods Market Coffee Bars, and a slew of other retailers have also embraced autumn’s most iconic flavor. You can order it fresh at the coffee bar at any Whole Foods or get the bottled version to go. Here’s where pumpkin spice lattes are available already to start getting into the fall spirit.

Where can I grab a PSL?

In addition to Whole Foods, you can find an early-season pumpkin spice latte at Krispy Kreme, which announced the return of the drink on August 12. The beverage is also available at 7-Eleven, and for fans of the flavor in Texas, Ohio, California, and New York, there’s even a new pumpkin-flavored Slurpee. The drink is described as “the flavor of pumpkin and cinnamon spice swirled together in the form of a refreshing, ice-cold Slurpee drink.”  However, it is only available at select locations, so make sure to call ahead.

While Starbucks has yet to announce its seasonal offerings, based on trends from previous years, the PSL will likely return at the end of August. In the meantime, a lineup of fall-flavored coffees and creamers has already hit grocery stores, including the Pumpkin Spice Frappuccino Chilled Coffee Drink, the Iced Espresso Pumpkin Spice Latte, and Pumpkin Spice Flavored Coffee K-Cups. And while Dunkin’ is also expected to bring back the PSL later this month, the brand debuted a Spiked Pumpkin Spice Iced Latte on August 7.

If none of these spots are close to you, you can always try making your own at home. You’ll, of course, need pumpkin puree and pumpkin spice (a mix of cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, allspice, and cloves), but most other ingredients you should have on hand. What other pumpkin-spice-flavored foods are available?

Lattes aren’t the only pumpkin spice treats making a comeback. IHOP is set to release pumpkin spice pancakes on September 1, but for those of us who can’t wait a few more weeks for an autumn-inspired breakfast, Chobani has pumpkin spice-flavored Greek yogurt out now. Chobani is also partnering with coffee roaster La Colombe for a new pumpkin spice yogurt drink and barista-style oatmilk. If you prefer your yogurt frozen, Yogurtland’s Pumpkin Spice Cheesecake Swirl Yogurt is also already available. And several coffee brands have already started selling pumpkin flavors, such as Green Mountain Roasters and Torani. It may be August, but it’s never too early to start stocking up on these seasonal items.
